GARLIC HUMMUS

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

GARLIC HUMMUS

 

Ingredients:

- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

- 1/4 cup tahini

- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced

- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)

- 2 tbsp olive oil

- 1/2 tsp ground cumin

- Salt to taste

- Water (as needed, for desired consistency)


 Instructions: 

1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and cumin.

2. Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add water a tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

3. Season with salt to taste and blend again.

4. Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle with a little more olive oil if desired, and garnish with a sprinkle of paprika or chopped parsley.


Served with:

1. Toasted pita wedges

2. Fresh carrot sticks

3. Cucumber slices

4. Cherry tomatoes

5. Whole grain crackers

6. Radish slices

7. Grilled asparagus spears

8. Sliced bell peppers

9. Celery sticks

10. Roasted garlic cloves

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 roasted red peppers (from a jar or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (as needed, for desired consistency)
  • Smoked paprika (for garnish)


 Instructions: 

  1. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, roasted red peppers, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and cumin.
  2. Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add water a tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Season with salt to taste and blend again.
  4. Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle with a little more olive oil, and sprinkle with smoked paprika.


Served with:

1. Sliced baguette

2. Mini bell peppers

3. Pita chips

4. Fresh broccoli florets

5. Grape tomatoes

6. Grilled zucchini rounds

7. Olive tapenade

8. Sliced radishes

9. Multigrain crackers

10. Sliced jicama sticks

Spicy Sriracha Hummus

Ingredients:

  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 tbsp water (as needed)


Instructions:

  1. Combine chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, sriracha, cumin, and salt in a food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  3. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve with::

          *Pita chips or toasted pita bread

          *Sliced bell peppers (red, yellow, green)

          *Celery sticks

          *Cucumber rounds

          *Spicy tortilla chips

          *Carrot sticks

          *Grilled zucchini slices

          *Pretzel sticks

          *Cherry tomatoes

          *Roasted cauliflower florets

Ingredients:

  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 tbsp water (as needed)

  1. Combine chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, parsley, cilantro, and salt in a food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  3. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve with:

           *Sliced baguette or crostini

           *Sliced radishes

           *Sugar snap peas

           *Mini bell peppers

           *Whole grain crackers

           *Endive leaves

           *Cherry tomatoes

           *Fresh broccoli florets

          *Olives

          *Sliced jicama

           *Grilled eggplant slices

           *Sliced zucchini rounds

           *Kalamata olives

           *Stuffed grape leaves

  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 tbsp water (as needed)


Instructions:

  1. Combine chickpeas, avocado, tahini, olive oil, garlic, lime juice, cilantro, and salt in a food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  3. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve with:

          *Blue corn tortilla chips

          *Sliced avocado
